Fearless
Coronavirus has gripped the whole world. No country is immune to it or were they prepared for it. But everyone is doing their part in preventing the spread of this pandemic, both viral and fear.
This Fearless Girl statue outside the New York Stock Exchange has represented many ideals since it was installed on March 7, 2017.
It first started off facing off the Charging Bull to represent female empowerment in corporate America. A plaque originally placed below the statue stated: “Know the power of women in leadership. SHE makes a difference”. Fearless Girl has since been moved to a different location after the Charging Bull’s artist filed a complaint. A plaque with footprints was placed on the original site of Fearless Girl.
What started off as a representation for International Women’s Day has sparked the creative arts in all of us. Many have augmented the statue to represent current events.
Gun control was a major topic in 2018 which gripped the nation when it was a fearful year with so much gun violence in schools and public. Fearless Girl stood tall and proud to represent all kids around the country.
Now we face a new challenge for humanity. The coronavirus has touched the world. No race, no culture, no gender is immune to this viral pandemic. But what we all can control is our mental state on how we face it. Use common sense, follow CDC guidelines, don’t go to gatherings and just be fearless. Scientists around the world are working on a vaccine and prevention measures. We, the human race, WILL BEAT THIS. We must all be our own FEARLESS GIRL.
